Casa Bonita

I really wanted to go to Casa Bonita when I went home.  I have a fond memory from high school of going with my friends.  It was huge and fun and the sopapillas were delectable.  So I dragged Papa and my Sister's family along for the ride.

I am sad to report it was not what I remembered.  It was dirty, crowded, smelled slightly off, and the sopapillas were greasy.  I was duly warned by both of my sisters and possibly Mom and Dad too.  By the end of the evening I was hot and cranky and just wanted to leave.  I tried not to be mean because of the kids, but I'm pretty sure I didn't succeed.  It didn't help when one of my children (yes it was W) disappeared.  We found him and decided to take him home after much deliberation, instead of letting him live in the restaurant and survive off of scraps.

Even the cliff divers were a disappointment.  They spent more time discussing what, how, and when to dive, than actually diving.  After the "diving", I got in the car, agreed with (lied to) the kids about how fun it was, and drove home from the less than savory neighborhood.  Glad that's over.  Now here's G's opinion of the night:

P.S. Sorry about the griping.  :)

Tea Party

We were invited to a lovely tea party by three gracious hostesses.  We received our invitations early in the morning and thankfully everyone RSVP'd and was able to attend.

There was a scrumptious feast, including lemonade for those disinclined to tea.

It was a beautiful day.

The guests were all very well behaved.

Fancy attire was required.

It was a very lovely afternoon tea.

Minutes at the Park

We went to the park.  We were there for a few minutes when the clouds came in, opened up, and drove us away.  But for those few moments, there was sheer joy on my babys' faces.

Bubble Boy

While the kids were outside getting dirty, Baby was inside getting clean.

Gardening with Grandpa

One morning the kids helped Papa plant beans.

First, he showed them how to space and place the beans.

Then he let them go to work.

He also wanted me to have photographic evidence that they know how to weed.

I love L's pinkie technique.

Thanks Papa!

Happy Independence Day!

On the 4th, we went to the community park near my parents' house to enjoy the fireworks.  It was a long wait, and the kids entertained themselves with my phone and ipod playing Cut the Rope.

We walked around a bit, ate dinner, played at the nearby park, and wore the baby out.

But don't worry - he didn't miss the fireworks.

Fireworks

Since we won't be with Daddy for the 4th of July, we decided to celebrate early with fireworks in the driveway.
