The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center

That's right - the Steven F. Udzar-Hazy Center. What is it? It's the National Air and Space Museum that is out by the Dulles Airport. We went there the Monday after L's baptism with all of the family. If you haven't been, it is WAY worth it. It is a HUGE hanger FILLED with planes.

We started out on the free guided tour which is great for adults, but the children wilted about halfway through.

We wandered off on our own to the space hanger with the Space Shuttle Enterprise and a ton of missiles, rockets, and whatnot. Did I mention it's HUGE?

It was so fun because the kids could run around and they didn't have to be quiet. I liked this exhibit. Guess why?

The observation deck closed before we could get up there so we will be going back. The highlight of the day for my kids? The Transformers exhibit - one of the planes here transforms into a Transformer in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. (I wouldn't recommend it for kids, but of course mine have seen it. Hmmm...Dad's idea? Uh, yeah.)

They have a display case with Transformers stuff and the clip from the movie including how they made it. It' still educational, right? Oh well.
