Endo Graduating Picnic

May 30, 2009 - Saturday was the End of the Year Picnic for our graduating class. It was held at Capt. Tordik's house. She is always very conscious of having things for the kids to do. They ran around and played for most of the time.

There were also pony rides.

W had a little trouble getting on. But once he got on, he had a great time.

There was a young boy doing face painting. L was the only one brave enough to try it.

She took several rides on the ponies and even fed one of them a carrot.

The pony lady let L brush "Jesse James," but he was a CRAZY EYED pony and she was scared.

It only worked when I held the bridle. He kept attacking my arm with his lips and the handler told me not to let him do that. She told me to punch him in the face, which I was not about to do, so I just kept pushing his face away with my other hand. Truth be told, I was seriously scared of that little pony. He was giving me the crazy eyes the whole time because he knew I was scared. The only thing that kept me holding that bridle is that I knew L really wanted to brush him. The things a mother will do...

W disappeared and we couldn't find him. Big surprise, I know. I was calling his name and no one had seen him for a while. I was about to start canvassing the neighborhood when I looked up at where a bunch of the faculty was sitting. He was sitting up there totally calm and serene. He didn't even hear me calling him because he was so engrossed in a conversation with the adults. He stayed there for a long time. He was actually involoved in their conversation, not just sitting there quietly. One of the ladies said he was remarkable. She said he could be president one day, but I said hopefully not!

L got bored of the ponies so she tried the rake!

The graduating class - my hubby, John, Chris, Brad, and Andy.

H accepted his plaque with humility, confusion, and humor.

The kids were worn out by the end of the day. You can tell by W's knees that he had a great time.

Check out M's little legs. She scraped them on the stairs several times and was really hurting by the end of the night.
