We wanted to throw Mom a surprise birthday party. So we ordered the cake and H picked it up the day before while we were at Mt. Vernon. We hid it in the fridge that is outside in the garage. Side note - I LOVE having an extra fridge. The rest of the family didn't quite get the idea of it being a surprise. They kept hinting at things, or flat out asking what time the "sit-down" was going to be.
Really? I said surprise. Anyway, she knew something was up, but not the cake part. Yea!
We got her two pairs of earrings from Mt. Vernon.
L made her a puzzle card.
And, on H's suggestion, we got her a Kindle.
Then we checked the mail and there was a package from her husband! We were so excited. We pulled out the camera, and... (drum roll please)
...it was her absentee ballot! Oops.
Happy Birthday, Mom!
